Jon Polson is a new up and coming singer songwriter in Middle Tennessee. Jon’s style consists mostly of folk based pop/rock, occasionally mixed with blues, hip-hop, jazz and country in his original sound. For a little more background, please continue reading.

You may know Jon Polson for his warm smile and songwriting. But if you’ve ever met him, he may have told you the story of how he got started.  He remembers his father recording a song he and one of his sisters wrote for their grandparents when he was only five years old!  “That was the starting point and by age 15, I had started playing guitar, writing songs & singing! I really enjoyed it!  From then on, I knew I would become a singer/songwriter! I played in West Texas, New Mexico and California, pursuing that dream and never giving up!”

Before his journey into music brought him to Middle Tennessee, Jon can remember growing up in the Southwest and on the West Coast, Jon’s mom (a church singer/pianist/organist) and his dad (who loved folk music) were his introduction to the world of music. To this day, a spiritually charged folk feel predominates most of his music. “God gives each of us gifts and we choose to use them or not to.  I believe music should not just be heard but that it should actually be moving, even life changing,” Jon continues, “I want to create music that people can actually say, ‘That touched me so deeply, my life was changed.’”

Jon feels privileged to have attended South Plains College in Texas (where many top country & bluegrass performers started out and teach/lecture) and Middle Tennessee State University (best known for it’s stellar music recording program). “I’ve also been privileged to work with some great musicians, I have some incredible friends who are excited about the new music and website!”  Jon hopes you will enjoy what you hear and see, so take a listen and be taken in by this eclectic blend of God pop, be touched, be moved, be changed!
